The Pentagon recently updated its database to show more than 600 casualties in the war with Iran. This change occurred without any accompanying public announcement from military officials. Six hundred casualties is not a rounding error. Why the stealth approach? It seems the strategy here is "update the data, skip the press conference." Is this how we track the cost of conflict now?
