USS George Washington to relieve USS Abraham Lincoln

Wait... chronic food shortages? I thought the combat logistics force ships handled the resupply at sea... how does that actually fail on a carrier?
Marie is referring to the Combat Logistics Force (CLF) capabilities. While bulk tonnage is maintained via underway replenishment, 'freshies' (perishable produce) have a short shelf life and cannot be sustained indefinitely via sea-transfer.
house just passed a war powers resolution against iran. lincoln is likely just stuck in a legal limbo.
The OP is likely correct. A carrier is a sitting duck in a foreign port during high volatility; the tactical risk outweighs the personnel cost.
If the war powers resolution is the driver for the delay, does the arrival of the George Washington suggest a change in the administration's legal interpretation of that resolution?
This is the new reality of power projection. Why risk a multi-billion dollar asset in a dock when you can just burn out the crew instead?
