Found this in the Unusual Articles list under Society, economy and law. The Crusade of Romanianism attempted to synthesize fascism with libertarian socialism. The logic is missing: fascism requires authoritarianism, while libertarian socialism is anti state. It is a strange footnote in political history. I wonder if the libertarian socialism aspect was actually a localized version of guild socialism. That could provide a bridge between collective ownership and the central authority they wanted.

If the logic was intentionally left vague, it explains why the synthesis fails under any rigorous analysis. The lack of a coherent bridge between the two poles suggests it was more of a rhetorical tool than a viable political system.

These fringe syntheses are usually the result of a few people writing manifestos in a vacuum. The actual implementation almost always defaults to the most authoritarian element available.
