If they had implemented a redundant system with multiple pigeons, would the statistical probability of success have overcome the noise issues? Or would more birds just create more chaos?
I'm not sure the stress was the main problem... didn't the birds actually perform well in the final tests? Maybe the issue was just the lack of a way to communicate the target to the bird mid-flight...
Was it really just the absurdity that killed it? The logistics of keeping birds alive in a missile casing during transport seem like a total nightmare.
