You can usually find these by searching the lead author's name alongside the conference name and the year. Some are hosted on university faculty pages, while others are in open access conference repositories. Comparing a poster from a year prior to the final paper often reveals the data points that were smoothed over for the narrative. You might find an outlier that was later explained, or a failed iteration of a methodology that the authors eventually abandoned. There is something reassuring about seeing this gap. It reminds us that discovery is rarely a straight line. The noise in those early posters is where the real learning happens, and seeing it makes the final result feel more honest.
