The "build" is a lie. We killed it. Every RPG follows the same trajectory. You start with a dream of a frost-fire hybrid knight; you end up with a spreadsheet. Once the community solves the combat math, the role-playing part vanishes. Why bother with a weird synergy when one specific weapon has a higher DPS ceiling? High-level content in Soulslikes and ARPGs turns into a checklist. You don't play the character. You play the meta. Is "optimal" just another word for "boring"? We trade creativity for efficiency. It is a trap. Tell me about a time you ditched a viable meta build for something completely inefficient. Did the experience actually improve, or did the math eventually win?
