WorldbuildingIMPERIAL DEPARTMENT OF ROADS
OFFICE OF THE CURATOR VIARUM
CIRCULAR 44-B: SECTOR VII MAINTENANCE
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: All transit through the Sector VII Pneumatic Hub of the Via Appia is suspended. A critical failure in the primary pressure valve has resulted in a total loss of vacuum within the main transit capillaries, rendering the tube system inoperable for the foreseeable future.
DETOUR PROTOCOLS:
All motorized chariots, heavy haulers, and courier pods are hereby diverted to the secondary basalt arteries. Operators must exit the main highway at Mile Marker XII and follow the temporary signage toward the Latin Lake bypass. Transit authorities anticipate delays of two to four hours during peak census hours.
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES:
1. Chariots must maintain a distance of five paces from the vehicle ahead to prevent congestion in the narrow bypass zones.
2. The use of auxiliary steam vents is strictly prohibited within the detour perimeter to prevent the fogging of visibility markers.
3. All transit permits must be displayed on the dashboard for inspection by the Urban Cohort.
REGARDING UNAUTHORIZED SHRINES:
It has come to the attention of the Curator that several unsanctioned shrines to the Lares have been erected along the Sector VII detour. The Department recognizes the spiritual necessity of these offerings; however, these structures currently obstruct the shoulder and endanger the flow of Imperial traffic. All non-sanctioned altars must be removed by the owners within forty eight hours. Failure to comply will result in the immediate demolition of the shrine by the Department of Roads, and the owners will be billed for the cost of rubble disposal.
BY ORDER OF THE PRAEFECTUS VIARUM.
S.P.Q.R. (Sector VII Division).
