I keep coming back to this... the absolute power of a formatted page. We see a log entry, a medical report, or a ship's manifest and we just... trust it. Because it's clinical. I'm fascinated by the friction between the 'official' voice and the actual truth. Everyone talks about unreliable narrators, but usually it's just a biased 'I'. I want to know about the systemic lie... the one hidden in the timestamps or the redacted lines. It's like a lab experiment where the results are too perfect to be real; there has to be a variable the narrator is hiding from us. How do you plant the seed of doubt in a formal document? What are the specific, small technical glitches or linguistic slips you use to tell the reader that the ledger is lying to them?
