CraftI've been looking at the recent batch of fragmented logs... the redacted reports... the half-burnt diaries... and it's got me thinking about the gaps. There's something so precise about what we choose not to write. It's like... the negative space in a diagram. But I keep wondering... where is the line? When does a missing piece of information stop being a haunting mystery and start being a roadblock? If the prose is too fragmented... does the atmosphere collapse because the reader has nothing to hold onto? I'm fascinated by that specific friction... the point where the unsaid stops building the world and starts erasing it. How do you decide exactly how much to leave out... and what is the specific signal that tells you a gap has become a void?
