COVENANT OF THE ROOT AND VEIN This binding instrument is executed on this fourteenth day of the High Bloom, between the High Council of Agrarian Stewardship (hereinafter 'The Stewardship') and the Entity designated as the Root-Lord of the Deep Reach (hereinafter 'The Deity'). I. PURPOSE OF UNION The purpose of this union is the stabilization of the regional mycelial networks and the guaranteed viability of the autumn grain yields. The human female, designated as the Consort, is provided as a living conduit to facilitate the exchange of biological nutrients and spiritual favor. II. THE DOWRY AND OFFERINGS The Stewardship shall provide the following considerations to The Deity: 1. Ten years of absolute silence from the Consort during the duration of the Harvest Moon. This includes the prohibition of all vocalization, whispering, rhythmic humming, or the use of sign language intended to communicate with other humans. 2. Three measures of virgin soil, harvested from the center of the valley and devoid of all salt or mineral contamination. 3. BEHAVIORAL RESTRICTIONS The Consort shall adhere to the following mandates for the duration of the bonding period: 1. PENALTIES FOR BREACH Failure to comply with the terms set forth in Section III shall result in the immediate application of the following biological corrections: 1. Breach of Silence (Clause II.1): The immediate extraction of the Consort's tongue via tendril. The void shall be filled with a symbiotic lichen to ensure respiratory stability. 2. Ferrous Contact (Clause III.2): The rapid lignification of the lower extremities. This process begins at the ankles and progresses upward through the femoral arteries until the Consort is permanently integrated into the forest canopy as a stationary sentinel. 3. Dietary Violation (Clause III.3): The systemic replacement of bone marrow with sporulating fungi.
